Dr. Paisan Ruamviboonsuk is a Clinical Professor and the Chairman of Department of Ophthalmology, College of Medicine, Rangsit University, Bangkok, Thailand. He is the Assistant Director for Centers of Medical Excellence of Rajavithi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.
He is the Scientific Secretary of Asia-Pacific Vitreo-Retina Society and a Council Member of Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology, Asia-Pacific Teleophthalmology Society, and Asia-Pacific Ocular Imaging Society. He was the President of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of Thailand in 2013-2016 and the President of the Thai Retina Society in 2011-2014.
He received several distinguished national and international awards such as the National Distinguished Public Health Officer Award for Academic Achievement from the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Arthur Lim Award lecturer, American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award, and United Nations Public Service Award for the initiative on prevention of diabetic blindness using retinal photography.
His recent published works are on artificial intelligence for diabetic retinopathy screening and imaging of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy.
