Onnisa Nanegrungsunk, MD, is a retinal specialist and an instructor at Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. She received her MD degree from Chiang Mai University, where she subsequently completed ophthalmology residency and clinical vitreoretinal fellowship. Currently, she is pursuing a research fellowship at Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University and Doheny Eye Institute, University of California-Los Angeles, USA. She has joined Chiang Mai University as a faculty member since her fellowship, and will return to work in the Retina Division, Department of Ophthalmology in 2022.
Dr. Nanegrungsunk’s major research interests include retinal image analysis and advanced technologies. During her residency and fellowship training, she has been involved in more than 15 studies and book chapters. She believes that the imaging and advanced technologies will significantly improve patient care and expand the knowledge of Ophthalmology. She also serves as a volunteer ophthalmologist giving a surgical care for the patients in the rural area of Thailand.
